POT: Federal priorities should be elsewhere

With all the problems facing the nation, I think that talk of marijuana legalization would be a complete waste of time. Every second spent on this could be put to many other, more important issues.

The subject of legalization should be decided by each state so the federal government can move on to more important legislation. I’m sure there are plenty of other “fires” around the world that need to be extinguished.

The government currently list marijuana as being as bad as heroin, LSD, Ecstacy, Quaalude and peyote. The list also says that marijuana is worse than cocaine, methamphetamine (meth), oxycodone and vicoden, among others. To have marijuana classified this way shows no logical sense at all.

The nations first “drug czar” spent 32 years making eradication of marijuana his primary goal. He did this through blatant misinformation, intimidation, and stereotyping. Any positive studies about marijuana were completely ignored, even ones funded by the government!
He did this so well that he went to the United Nations and used the United State’s power to force through a worldwide ban on marijuana. It’s amazing how one man’s actions can cause so much harm.
